🎮 DevBlog Week 10 (12/04/2025) – Playtesting feedback 

This week   second year  students came to play test the fourth years game. 
 I have gotten a lot of feedback regarding the camera.  When starting developing my platformer game I was using unitys cinemachine free look camera and some input to control the camera.

There was a function to right click mouse button and you could control where you want to look . However I have gotten feed back that it was a bad idea to use this function, and then I decided to remove that and the players could look anywhere without any player input, well except to move the mouse that is.   However I couldn’t figure the sensitivity out and every time I tried to fix it , it would  always be something wrong with it from when the other students  were testing.  I think it’s because I am more used to my mouse sensitivity  then them.So I decided to upgrade the cinemachine 2 to cinemachine 3. And it is way better than before.

Lumin orb Update 

Lumin orb is suppose to be a special collectible for the players. So far the lumin orb is just a simple collectible and you can get a quest to from a npc to collect it and that’s it.  I wasn’t too sure to what to make of it but now I have an idea. using unitys visual effect to make this orb wasn’t too hard and I mentioned it in devlog 3. The  visuals are great but a lot more potential could be added. 

Being one of the main collectible I decided to make it a power up collectible. I was thinking on making it an elemental orb  like a fire orb and lighting orb.  But I’m all up for more ideas to make of it but right now it’s what I am going for and I’ll keep everyone up to date on the orb next next week.
